Setting up MS Word Formatting

Configuring the MS Word Style components of your template.
The text data from PlexTrac will be rendered in your document based on a number of Word Styles:
  • Normal
  • Heading 1
  • Heading 2
  • Heading 3
  • Heading 4
  • Heading 5
  • Heading 6
  • ListBullet1
  • ListBullet2
  • ListBullet3
  • ListBullet4
Each style has a number of attributes that can be set and saved in your Jinja Template, to include font, font size, color, spacing and many more. Your organization may have a Style Guide that provides the attributes for each Style.
To modify your Word Styles, from the Home tab in your navigation ribbon in MS Word, choose the flyout in the bottom right of the Styles section:
This will expose the Styles navigation pane. To modify a given Style, hover your cursor over the right-most area of the row to expose the drop down, and select “Modify”:
Modify the attributes of each Style as desired. Additional options are available by selecting the “Format” dropdown. For Heading Styles, be sure to select “Automatically Update” so that the Style changes are applied to the Static Content in your Jinja Template. Otherwise, the Static Content will retain the legacy styling and not match the attributes of text exported from the PlexTrac Application.

Additional Formatting Attributes

You can change additional formatting attributes of your Jinja Template just as you would with any other Word document. These include margins and page size/orientation. Note that Section Breaks are used to prevent the Set-Up Code from impacting your export – DO NOT remove the Section Break immediately following your Set-Up Code.
